Fall is the time for festivals in southeastern North Carolina. Downtown Wilmington held its annual Riverfest this past weekend, offering fun for the whole family. Classic and antique cars were on display, there was a tour of a Coast Guard vessel, and Water Street was lined with arts and crafts vendors and concessions to fulfill every craving. Kids enjoyed the giant inflatable slide and bouncers, petting zoo and pony rides, face painting, a trackless train, and more.
This coming weekend is the 17th annual Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival in Kure Beach near Wilmington, and the following weekend is the 30th annual North Carolina Oyster Festival on Ocean Isle Beach. The autumn weather is beautiful, and there are activities to suit every taste, so make sure to take advantage of some of the many opportunities this fall.
